Your riyaz stays on your phone.
The app plays its tanpura, tabla and metronome on your device and keeps your practice log there. TathyaLabs does not run a server for it and never receives your log. This policy explains what the app stores and the times data leaves it, always because you chose it. Raga Room: Tanpura & Tabla on Google Play and Riyaz by Tathya on the App Store are the same app, and this page covers both.

The short version
- No account, no sign-up and no servers. The app makes no network requests of its own.
- No analytics, no crash-reporting SDK, no ads and no tracking.
- The app never uses the microphone and asks for no permissions.
- Backups and practice-log exports go only where you send them.
What the app stores, and where
The app keeps, in its private storage on your device: your practice sessions (date, start time, minutes, raag, taal, focus tags and notes), the riyaz timer in progress, your presets, the raag you’re working on, your daily goal and streak settings, and your other settings. All sounds are built into the app. TathyaLabs never receives any of this.
Like other app data, what the app stores may be included in your phone’s own backups if you have them turned on: an iCloud or computer backup on iPhone, or Android’s backup to your Google account. Those backups are controlled by you and Apple or Google; TathyaLabs cannot access them.
Playing in the background
The music keeps playing with the screen locked or while you use other apps: on iPhone through background audio, on Android through a media notification. The lock screen and your headphones can play and pause it. The app never uses the microphone (on Android the microphone permission is removed from the app).
Backups and exports
Export backup (JSON) saves your whole log, presets and settings, and Export practice log (CSV) saves your sessions for a spreadsheet or a teacher. Both go only where you send them through the system share sheet. Restore from backup reads only the file you pick, after keeping a copy of your current data so you can undo it. TathyaLabs does not receive a copy.
Contacting us
If you email us from the app or this website, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use them only to reply. If you rate the app, the rating screen is shown by the App Store or Google Play, and we see only what you choose to post there.
This website
These pages on tathyalabs.com use Google Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors are (country and city), their device and browser, and how they arrived. For visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it runs without cookies. Google signals and ad personalisation are off, and the site shows no ads. The app itself contains no analytics. You can opt out with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies.
Retention and deletion
Your log stays on your device until you delete it. You can delete sessions and presets, use Settings › Delete all data to erase everything, or delete the app. Files you exported stay where you saved them.
Children
Raga Room (Riyaz by Tathya on iPhone) is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
